Day 30 - ECPC - Essex
2011-08-07
Date: Sunday 7th August 2011 Venue: Gardener’s Arms, Chelmsford, Essex Frame Played: 25 Frames Won: 24 Frames Running Total: 673/750 I know that I keep harping on about the hospitality of everyone as everyone has been extremely nice and accommodating, but I think these guys stand out above the rest for the simple fact that apart from setting up the arena, everything was taken care of from cups of tea to lunch to dinner and also a bag of goodies was collected and given to us to “assist us with the rest of our journey”. It was like being seven years old on Christmas Day again!
Even the local pool team who had helped fundraise wasn’t fussed about getting the maximum number of frames out of me - they insisted I stopped the pool, sit down and enjoy a drink and have a chat with them, so I had the pleasure of a 45 minute break during the evening’s exhibition which was very nice indeed!
Angie and Dan are one of a kind and the evening was a nice, enjoyable and relaxing evening and the highlight for me was the announcement made by Dan that the first person who beat me would prompt a donation from himself and the first person to win was Dan himself when I potted the black in an attempt to break the pack up! The locals loved that!
